It was wonderful to welcome so many Church members back to
our 10.30 Easter service this Sunday morning, the first time for over two years that
we have had such an amazing celebration with 154 adults and 28 children giving thanks for the
Risen Christ and the love He has shown for us.
Rector Ric (in his celebratory gold trainers), led the children in decorating the Easter Cross in front of the Church.
Meanwhile the congregation were reminded by our by our wise friend John Carhart of that most important Easter message, given to us by Mary of Magdala, 'I have seen the Lord' . We may not have actually seen Him, but we can all pass that message on. Jesus is still with us today and always.
As John said, the modern route finder is GPS He
suggested that those letters could stand for 'Gratitude', 'Patience' and
'Service'.
As we left the Church many of us felt almost overwhelmed by
the emotions of the day. It was just a wonderful coming together of our
congregation and many friends and relatives, temporarily casting aside all the
complications of recent times to celebrate our Risen Lord, Jesus Christ.
