The new Rector of St Mary Without-the-Walls will be the Reverend Doctor Richard Patrick Whaite. His Institution and Induction will take place on Monday, 30th September at 7.30pm in the Church.
Some background information from our new Rector:
"The Revd Dr R. P. Whaite ('Ric') is looking forward to
his Institution and Induction as the Rector of St Mary Without-the-Walls in
Handbridge. Fr. Ric comes to Chester from serving as Chaplain at University
College, Durham. Prior to that he served in parochial ministry in the
Kensington Episcopal Area of the Diocese of London.
Educated in London, Oxford,
Manchester and the United States, the role of Rector of St Mary's is a return
to the county of his birth for Ric, who was born in Stockport and grew up near
Macclesfield.
As a new arrival to Handbridge with his family, Ric is
looking forward to meeting as many different parts of the community as he is able,
especially those groups making use of the new St Marys Handbridge Centre, but
also representatives of local businesses and those working in education.”
