FAREWELL TO OUR RECTOR

Canon Paul Dawson took his last service as the Rector of St Mary's on Sunday, 17th February, prior to moving to become the Vicar of Whitegate and Little Budworth.

Following the service, there was a gathering of parishioners in St Mary's Handbridge Centre to thank Paul and his wife, Fiona, for their support, friendship and dedication over the last 12+ years.

Revd John Carhart led the tributes to Paul and Fiona.

Helen Brophy, a Churchwarden, presented a cheque to Paul whilst Fiona was given plants for the garden of their new home in the vicarage in Whitegate.

A buffet lunch followed, attended by over 100 parishioners and the local Councillors, including Razia Daniels, for whom Paul was Chaplain in her year of office as Lord Mayor of Chester.
